These Semi-Foolish Things
This website is, of course, about all things Fortune's Fool. Those of you who are big fans just might want to know about other projects that our co-artistic directors, Daniel Pinkerton and Ariel Leaf, are doing with other artists and/or other companies. Because they bring a little bit of Fortune's Foolishness to everything they do.
What the hell is Dan up to?
Daniel's musical The Lady with a Lap Dog (music by Robert Elhai) was given its world premiere in 2017 by Fortune's Fool. He is working on the musicals Hard Times, music by Gary Rue, and Chopin's Heart, songs by Gary Rue, and has just begun another new project in collaboration with Robert Elhai. Fortunately, he and Bob can still write during the pandemic!
What the hell is Ariel up to?
In 2019, Ariel designed the astonishing lighting for Freshwater Theatre's The Drowning Girls, appeared as Xena in Xena and Gabrielle Smash the Patriarchy! at the 2019 Minnesota Fringe Festival, in Segway Productions' Church & State, and, of course, starred as Zetta in Dog Act for us. She's not as lucky as Dan -- it's tough to design lights and act during the pandemic, but when it's over, watch out, Twin Cities!
